Hardcover [publisher’s original cloth] with gilt lettering on spine and front board. Gilt embossment to front board also. Good+ condition with only minor signs of external wear. Fading to spine. Staining to front board. Board corners bumped and rubbed. Gutter between endpaper and titlepage cracked with exposed cloth. Binding still firm and strong. Some foxing to front endpapers. Interior bright and clean. Front pastedown carries presentation bookplate of Presentation College, Mardyke, Cork detailing prize awarded to “Master A Swanton” for “maintaining second place in English” signed by “M J O’Connor”.
