Robert Fountain, a retired Consultant Dermatologist and horse-keeper, in this account tells of his four year adventure around Ireland in a four-wheeled wagonette drawn by a pair of Morgan horses. He tells of the trials and tribulations of getting two horses fit and driving them along the boreens and highroads of Ireland, surmounting an array of challenges along the way. He describes the hospitable and often eccentric friends he met on the way, and of the beautiful scenery, sketched by one of their team, Malcolm Coward. The many illustrations in the book recreate the atmosphere, the craic, the humour and the leisurely pace of rural Ireland. (Source: The Southern Star)
