Why is Joshua so compelling? It is a story about a woodcarver which is simple but engrossing. There are many intriguing ideas expressed throughout the story. But, we are at a loss to explain what drives people to read “Joshua” as many as ten times, and to write and tell us that it is the most beautiful book that they have ever read.
