A biography of Father O’Flynn of the Loft by his close friend Fr. Richard O’Donoghue. Fr Christy O’Flynn, was a parish priest of Passage West, who was well known in his native Cork. Fr O’Flynn had opened a school of drama, music and philosophy, next to Shandon steeple in Cork city, which became known as the Loft. In January 1961, the BBC televised a programme, It Happened to Me, which recounted the life of Fr. O’Flynn who did pioneering work in speech therapy. His techniques were particularly successful in helping people who stammered. [Irish Times]
