Portrait Heliogravure with watermark: M B M / Portifolio . Germany, [c.1880]. Format des Portraits / Size of the portrait: 26 cm x 36 cm. Faded dampstain to left side of the outer margin of the portrait. The portrait itself not effected but some parts of the writing is. NO FOXING !!!

Ludwig van Beethoven (1770 – 1827).

Stunning, original 19th century Gouache of Beethoven by E.F. Göbel; after a painting of Beethoven by Carl Jaeger (1833-1887), which is now in the possession of the Library of Congress. Germany, 1897. Beautifully Framed. Size of frame with Gouache: 53 cm x 65 cm. The Gouache itself measures: 48 cm x 34,5 cm. Outer margins slightly frayed only. Extraordinary 19th century painting with fresh impression of the signature-face of this timeless composer.

Original Photograph / Vintage Albumen Print from c. 1885 / 1890, of the recently erected Statue / Sculpture [Bronze] of norwegian educator, jurist, economist and politician, Anton Martin Schweigaard. The rare photograph shows the statue at its original location, with locals walking in front. The sculptor of Schweigaard’s Statue was nowegian sculptor and educator Julius Olavus Middelthun, who taught among others, Edvard Munch at the Royal Drawing School in Christiania (Tegneskolen i Kristiania). Original Lithograph / Lithographic portrait by P.Gemzøe.

Tear to cloth at front hinge of spine but binding still firm and strong. Interior bright and clean and the bookblock tight and complete with all illustrations.
