The etchings all protected by their original tissue guards. A stunning publication of a wonderful West Cork – Artist. A must-have for all collector’s of rare and signed Somerville & Ross collectables, this find is simply an unusual occurance because the artwork was originally designed to be framed. One usually never finds this edition with the artwork still in its original folder !

Original, illustrated Hardcover, now in professional colloctor’s Mylar. Some of the plates with some minor staining, one plate cleanly detached. But all plates in wonderful and vibrant condition overall (see photographs).

Especially within the Province of Munster under the Government of Sir George Carew and compiled by his Direction and Appointment. Edited and with an Introduction and Notes by Standish O’Grady. With Portraits, Maps and Plans. [This late 19th century version of the Pacata Hibernia is the so-called Fourth Edition, with a new impression of the titlepage of the first edition from 1633 and excellent reproductions of the original plates].

Original Hardcover / Contemporary half-leather with gilt lttering and ornament to spine. Volume I professionally rebacked and all three Volumes now firm and strong. Very good condition of this important mid-19th-century-publication, documenting the very essence of intertwining politics and History of Ireland and Victorian Britain. The work is difficult top find in excellent condition. Interior excellent besides a few very minor dogears to some pages. From the library of B.Burrowes, Belfast, with the armorial bookplate / Exlibris including the Motto: “Audaces Fortuna Juvat”.
