Original copper engraved map. [Paris], c. 1700. 16 cm wide x 13.2 cm high. Mounted on paper. Very good condition. From a wonderful collection of Maps from an old english library (South Shields) – with a tiny library stamp to the mounting paper (The stamp is NOT on the Map).

Independent Tartary with Vignettes and folkloristic illustrations of Tartars on a Journey, The Bride Chase (a marriage custom of the Tartars), The Tent. Showing the several prvinces of Tartaria Magna: Tartaria, Kokand, Bokhara, Koondoz (Kunduz) with the city of Koondooz and Goree and Heibuk and even showing Cabool (Kabul), Budakshan, Ersarees, Kirghiz Khasaks, Caspian Sea etc.
