London, Printed for the Company of Stationers, 1799. Slim-Octavo (9,5 cm x 16 cm). Collation complete with parts of the book interleaved: 60, XXXVI, [122 + 4 misbound planches with coats of arms, pagination incorrect but all plates available that are called for], plus 321 pages [House of Peers of Great Britain with misprinted pagination to the beginning of the 321 pages]. Original Hardcover / 18th century or early 19th century red leather. Stronger rubbed but firm and intact binding. Interior with tear to page 15/16, some minor foxing and browning only, some writing to interleaved pages in a child’s hand. All plates with Heraldic Bearings, Coat of Arms, Emblemata, Badges etc. included. Here the rare 1799 publication with over 500 examples of Heraldry of Ireland, Scotland and England. Includes Irish Earls, Irish Barons, Irish Archbishops, Irish Viscounts, etc. [Coat of Arms of Fingal, Glandore, Lisburne, Winterton, Arran, Barrymore, Marq. Dublin, Thomas Ewing, 1770 – 1790. Octavo (13,5 cm wide x 21,5 cm high). Pagination: Volume I (contains Numbers I, II, III, IV): Frontispiece-Portrait, XIV, [6 unnumbered pages of “Contents”], 636 pages, [2] pages with the contents-page misbound [2], and 24 pages on “The Brehon Laws of Ireland” to the rear of the Volume. Very good condition with only minor signs of wear. Spine of Volume Three is coming apart. Pagination: Volume I: Frontispiece showing “The Monument of the Battle of the Boyne”, two-coloured titlepage (lettering in black and red), Preface with printed Dedication (2 pages) to James, Earl of Clanbrassele, with two smaller Text-Illustrations showing Views of Dundalk and a Map of Dundalk Bay (4 pages), Book I: 16 pages of Text plus 20 full-page Plates (complete) / Volume II: 8 pages Text, Two smaller Text-Illustrations of the Mouth of the Boyn [sic] and of St.Laurence’s Gate of Doroghedah [sic]), 24 Full-page Plates (complete) / Volume III: 20 pages text, with one smaller Text-Illustration of the Bay of Carlingford, plus 22 full-page Plates. Collation complete ! Hardcover / Original full calf of the 18th century with orignal spine-label and gilt ornament on spine. Binding still holding but both boards nearly detached (in need of repair). Interior in very good condition with all of the fascinating plates present. Some minor creasing to some plates and only very slight foxing to very few plates. A Rare original version of this sought after Book !!
