Original Hardcover with new spinelabels. All Volumes in collector’s Mylar. Very good condition with only minor signs of wear. Provenance: From the library of Richard Meade (Ballymartle), with his Exlibris / Bookplate to pastedown. Minor browning only. Titlepage of Volume four missing, otherwise complete and the interior in excellent condition. A very rare find, this is one of the more elusive periodicals of the early 19th century, printed just after the Act of Union in 1800 was established and printed by english printer Luke Hansard for publishers and printers in London, Dublin and Cork.

First Edition. London, Printed by W,Bulmer and Co., 1814. Quarto (24 cm wide x 30 cm high). 304 pages with all 9 original sepia-aquatint-plates by Charles Turner after Haygarth. Disbound due to broken binding. Halftitle and bookblock available with all 9 plates included. Needs rebinding. Bookblock firm, halftitle detached. All nine plates with faded dampstain but still in beautiful and strong impression. The wide-margined Text in excellent, clean condition besides the faded dampstain. Last page of the Volume with some browning. Very minor wormhole-damage to the last 14 pages. One illustration cleanly detached. Extremely Rare Book !

Original Hardcover. Very good condition with only minor signs of wear.

First Edition of Charles Dicken’s First Book. London, Chapman and Hall, 1837. Octavo. Double-Frontispiece, XIV, [1], 609 pages plus 38 illustrations (instead of 43). Hardcover / Beautiful contemporary half leather with gilt lettering and ornament on spine. with dustjacket. Lesion to outer margin of pages 569/570. Two plates with very minor tears. Faded dampstain to very few pages. The Frontispiece the cleanest example we have ever seen, the interior illustrations as usual with some browning but some of them very clean indeed. Overall an unusually clean and beautiful example of the First Edition with some minor signs of wear only.

6. Dickens, Charles.

Collection of six First Editions, all bound uniformely around 1850 and all in their original state. A stunning set with nearly all of the books in their First state of First Edition printing and with all plates complete. The collection includes: Bleak House / Little Dorrit / Nicholas Nickleby / Martin Chuzzlewit / Dombey and Son / David Copperfield. A very rare occasion in which a contemporary 19th-century lover of Dickens’ Literature had all Novels in their first edition bound to his/her liking. The mid-19th-century bindings beautiful in their simplicity and uniform style.

London, Chapman and Hall, 1839 – 1857. Octavo. Hardcover / Mid-19th-century Half-Leather with gilt lettering on spine. Original marbled endpapers. Very good condition with only few layers and illustrations loosened and the usual tanning to the illustrations. Very good condition with only minor signs of wear. [The David Copperfield Volume has a defect (see detailed description below)]. Perfect collection of first editions to start a Dickens-Collection in contemporary, 19th-century bindings.
