Very good and firm condition with only minor signs of external wear. Name of 19th century preowner “Robert Osman’s book 1844” on endpaper. Text with only very occasional and minor staining. A wonderful example of this extremely scarce second edition of Martin’s english dictionary, published one year prior to Samuel Johnson’s dictionary.

Good condition with signs of external wear, for example front cover and spine are worn and slightly rubbed. Slight discolouration to pastedown and endpaper. A dampstain fading from titlepage towards page 81 (the stain gets progessively smaller and smaller and is overall very pale and no nuisance). Interior and also the full-page engravings in excellent condition. The wonderful large folded map of the Roman empire in excellent condition besides a faded peripheral dampstain.
