In protective Mylar. New endpaper to Volume I. Minor wormhole-damage to pastedown and a few pages only. Binding slightly rubbed but firm and strong. Very good condition with only minor signs of wear. This set, with the exceptionally interesting provenance, does not only contain Trevor’s signature but also his bookplate and some doodling of a portrait of an 18th or 19th century figurehead.

One of the previous owners has written his initials “GWH” in red ink verso the titlepage. Pastedown with armorial Bookplate / Exlibris of Scottish statesman, the Right Honorable Patrick Hume, Earl of Marchmont, Viscount of Blasonberry, Lord Polwarth of Polwarth & Lord High Chancellorof Scotland – [Bookplate dated at 1702 – Motto: “Fides Probata Coronat” – “True to the End”]. Very good condition with only minor signs of external wear. Minor lesion/tear to outer margins of page 461. With manuscript entries by the preowner to the top of each page, detailing each page for easier access into sections of countries (Germany, Poland, France, Spain, Britain, Rome, Sweden etc.). This book is rare; but with the excellent provenance from the library of Sir Patrick Hume, an even more important and desirable publication.

Spine slightly starting but overall in excellent condition with some minor signs of wear only. Interesting Provenance and signed manuscript dedication by the Cartographer and Mapmaker William Millar: From the library of Aberdeen Highlander, Major Hugh Houstoun, with a dedication: “April 27th, 1798 – To Major Hugh Houstoun – from his Much obliged and Humble Servant William Millar”.

Vintage 19th-century Photoalbum with fiftythree (53) Albumen Prints of tourist destinations visited in the year 1882 in Scotland and England. The Album shows with visits to Edinburgh, Loch Lomond and its “S.S.Rob Roy – Steamboat with Pier and Ben Venue, Loch Katrine, Callander Bridge and Ben Ledi, The Trossachs, then moves to Hastings and later shows many rare photographs of Cambridge University and Oxford University (including Trinity College and Magdalen College etc. (see complete list below)). Fantastic Album which also shows one magnificent photograph of Stonehenge and one of “The Major Oak” in Sherwood Forest in the year 1885.
