The view in this historical 19th-century-photograph is a reminder of Nature’s need to breath.

Berthelemy (Theodolites – Sextants – Cercles – Niveaux etc.) The magnificent folded maps all included. Volume 20 with minor damage to a few pages that were unopened ! A most important periodical of the early 20th century that was subscribed by nearly all of the important explorers at the time (From Shackleton and Stanley to Peary). The early discoveries colonial expeditions are all described in this periodical. This is a unique opportunity to acquire a corresponding set with the excellent provenance of the worlds oldest and still most important mountaineering club (The Alpine Club, London).

Interiors clean and bright. 1929 Volume, open tear to top corner of front board. Volumes for 1935 and 1937 show slight tears to spine but binding still firm and strong. Volume for1937 has detached front board and loose leaves near front. Former library copies – volumes carry subtle stamp of the Alpine Club on the preliminary pages.

The beautiful map shows the whole continent of Australia with Van Diemen’s Island (Tasmania). The map lists all the counties in Victoria, New South Wales, South Australia, West Australia.
