Includes for example the following chapters: How the machine was built / How not to become a spy / How to become a spy / How to foil a spy etc. Contains 16 black and white photos of spies and their innovative equipment.
The Illustrations show for example: ‘Some people who helped the Communists’ / ‘Tools of the Spy’.
The Foreword reads: In this booklet, which is about spies, there are passing references to such well-known names as Fuchs, Blake, Nunn May, Vassall, Houghton, Gee and Lonsdale. Certain aspects of the cases of Petrov and Gouzenko, former Russian intelligence operators, are also examined. In all other case histories described, fictitious names have been used. Apart from the names, the stories are true and have been told to illustrate Iron Curtain Intelligence Methods, sometimes subtle, and sometimes crude and brutal.
