This charming study of British country life is composed of four illustrated sections each introduced by the author. The photographs display a bygone era of town streets and picturesque village lanes. Of particular note is the section on rural crafts and occupations where craftsmen and women such as thatchers, spinners, basket makers, boat builders and quarrymen are depicted at work.
