Peter Redgrove was a prolific poet, novelist and playwright. He was born in Surrey, England, in 1932 but spent most of his later years in Cornwall where he died in 2003. Redgrove was friends with Ted Hughes and he shared with that poet a passion for the natural world which is evident in many of the poems here. He was awarded the Queen’s Gold Medal for Poetry as well as the Prix Italia and worked as a freelance writer, teacher and psychotherapist.
