“The following letters were written by the Reverend John Hamilton Pagan, B.D. during a long illness from his stoep in De Aar and other places in Cape Colony, to the Boys and Girls of the Presbyterian Church of South Africa. They were printed monthly “The Presbyterian Churchman,” along with a series of questions on Scripture, and were eagerly welcomed by a large circle of readers. Mr Pagan died on the 14th September, 1913. The Editorial Committee have resolved to publish his letters in this collected form, as they believe that many will be glad to have such a memorial of a man greatly beloved and a faithful Minister of Jesus Christ”. (Publisher).
In one chapter there is an interesting mention of David Livingstone, naming an area “Fossil Hill” in Griqualand West / Other chapters are: The Khaki Weed / The Wacht-een-Beetje Tree / etc.
