Most of the pamphlets from this series, amounting to forty by 2001, are based on theses completed as part of the M.A. in local history programme in National University of Ireland, Maynooth. This pamphlet looks at the political life of Thomas Sheahan during the crucial decades of 1820s and 1830s and his radicalisation of Cork City’s tradesmen, the creation of the Cork Trades Board and divisions in the O’Connellite movement.
