A novel pivoting around the battle at Tannenberg in 1914 as the Russian army advance into East prussia on the behest of their Western Allies to put down the German army there. Although greater in numbers the Russian army was not as well organised nor equipped as the Germans. The humiliation of the defeat and already unsteady Tzarist system gives way to the uprising that soon followed.
