Part III (Terza): Frontispiece copper-engraving with Florence in the background, 8 pages of text with catalogue of Statues [″Catalogo delle Statue colla Notizia del Loro Autori ec. (incl. Michelangelo Buonarotti, Donatello etc.). Hardcover / Original bookblock rebound by Bayntun in Bath in a subtle and charming modern cloth with gilt lettering on new spine-label. Original endpapers preserved. Exceptional condition of this rare 18th century publication with only very faint signs of foxing. Original Bilingual Edition in Latin and English. London, Printed for the Companie of Stationers, 1605. Quarto (19.5 cm wide x 29.3 cm high). [7], 41, 127, [2] pages. Original full leather on five raised bands. Original binding of the 17th century. Poor condition of the binding. Some fraying to the titlepage. Front pastedown missing but text complete with both endpapers. Annotated throughout in an old hand (possibly by Andrea Morrogh). Quite some wormhole-damage throughout to several pages but limited to only the outer margins of some pages without text being affected. Overall the typography and the paper-quality excellent and mostly clean. Pages mainly loose but only due the stitching of the five raised bands being separated. Name on endpaper in ink: “Ex libris Andrea Morrogh”, possibly of the Morrogh family of Inis Beg Morrogh (County Cork). Later from the library of Richard Meade in Ballymartle (near Kinsale).
