Pages 137 cleanly detached and one more illustration also starting to detache. More importantly, the bookblock in firm condition with the endpapers completly in tune with the binding. A very rare and important book in a still collectable and very much acceptable condition.

Good + condition with stronger signs of external wear (some staining). The binding is still firm and strong but the first five and the last 4 pages show some waterstaining. This copy would have not made it into our catalogue if Ray Riling would not recommend it and it would not be extremely scarce and rare due to the inscription of the author to Sir Henry Josias Stracey, 5th Baronet and British 19th century Conservative Politician (portrayed in Vanity Fair magazine in 1875).
