Original hand-coloured engraving. Paris, Sanson d’Abbeville, [c. 1658]. Plate Size: 26.3 cm x 20.3 cm. Sheet Size: 32.5 cm x 25 cm. Original map. In very good condition. With only the faintest signs of foxing. Map orientated to the north.

2. Tallis, John / Rapkin, John. (1817 – 1876)

Northern Africa with Algeria, Marocco and Tunis and showing the Street of Gibraltar with southern Spain – with Vignettes and illustrations of Mogador / Marocco [Marokko] / Constantine [Constantinople / Istanbul] / Algiers / Tunis.

Original steel engraving / Vintage map. Drawn and engraved by John Rapkin. Partly hand-coloured. London & New York, J & F. Tallis, 1851. Beautifully Framed. Size of frame with map: 41.5 cm x 50.5 cm. Size of the actual map: 27 cm x 37 cm. Excellent condition.

3. Morocco – Ortelius, Abraham. (1527 – 1598).

Fezzae et Marocchi regna Africae celeberrima, describebat Abrah Ortelius.

Original hand-coloured engraving. Amsterdam, Blaeu, [c.1650]. Plate Size: 49.5 cm x 38 cm. Sheet Size: 61.4 cm x 51.5 cm. Original, well-margined map. Very good, actually stunning condition. Tiny paper defect and minor tear to outer margins. Repaired minor tear to centre fold at lower edge of sheet. Some minor spotting to margins only. Hint of browning along centre fold. The map was orientated with Morocco’s north to the right.

4. Morocco – Ortelius, Abraham. (1527 – 1598).

Original hand-coloured engraving. Amsterdam, Blaeu, [c.1650]. Plate Size: 49.5 cm x 38 cm. Sheet Size: 60 cm x 51 cm. Original map. Very good condition. Minor tear to centre fold at lower edge of sheet. Some minor spotting to margins. Minor stain to fore edge of recto leaf. Central vertical fold as issued. The map was orientated with Morocco’s north to the right. Latin text on reverse.

5. Portugal – Sanson d’Abbeville, Nicolas. (1600 – 1667).

Parte Septentrional do Reyno de Portugal.

Original hand-coloured engraving. Paris, Sanson d’Abbeville, 1678. Plate Size: 53.6 cm x 41.7 cm. Sheet Size: 61.8 cm x 46.5 cm. Original map. In very good condition. Faint signs of browning to map. Minor paper imperfections to the outer margins. Small stain to map near centre-fold.
