With 8 illustrations (including the Frontispiece). All the illustrations show children acting a scene. Original, illustrated Hardcover. Very good condition with only minor signs of external wear. Frontispiece and a few of the other 7 illustrations cleanly detached but in very good condition. Binding a little shaky but still intact and rather firm. Ex Libris / Bookplate of J.B. Findlay to pastedown. Extremely rare !
This rare children’s book shows children theatre and Charade Acting and practice of oration. Several of the charades have a local theme like the Scottish Highlands or names which are locally connected to the Scottish Highlands (Mc Lomond – Plays in a Highland Castle) / Charade III is mentioning a Lord Dellington, who has a “peculiar antipathy to Ireland” / etc.
