Very good condition with only minor signs of external wear and scuff marks. Binding still firm and strong. Interior clean and bright. Pastedowns and endpapers carry advertising for Cattle, Building Materials, Agricultural Machinery and other goods for settlers and farmers from Newland Tarlton and Co. of Nairobi and other companies.

Promotional publication for Newland, Tarlton and Co., land and estate agents based in Nairobi advertising the “equable climate, soil of wonderful quality, abundant water, regular rainfall, magnificent scenery” of British East Africa to the “enterprising settler.”
Published in the midst of the Great War, the publication stressed that “although land is cheap to-day, its phenomenal richness, combined with the fact that the country is limited in area, indicate a rapid rise in values immediately after the war.″
