Very rare first edition of this scarce jewish children’s book.

Preface: K’TonTon, the little hero of these stories, wishes to say Shalom to the many thumblings who have preceded him, Tom Thumb, Hop-o-my-Thumb, the exquisite Thumbelina, his fellow Hebrews, Fingerel of the Babache Tale and Rabbi Gadiel ha-Tinok. The author acknowledges her indebtness to all of these, particularly to S.I. Agnon’s little Gadiel. The background of the K’tonton stories is drawn from the wide field of Jewish tradition and folk-lore. K’tonton is unique only in his size and his precocity. His dreams and ambitions, the festivals he celebrates, the ceremonials he delights in, are shared in varying degree by Jewish children everywhere.
