Hardcover / Contemporary full calf with blindstamped ornament tooled along spine. Binding stronger rubbed and upper spine slightly damaged; but the volume firm and in very good condition. Small cutout to endpaper. Smaller, faded dampstain from page 247 onwards. Dampstain to both endpapers. Text otherwise clean and bright ! Name of William L. Webb in ink on titlepage.

Famianus Strada was a Jesuit writer. Born in Rome, Strada taught rhetoric at the Collegio Romano. He is best known for his history of the revolt of the Netherlands, De bello belgico decades duae (1632-1650).
