Peter Porter (1929-2010) was an Australian poet who spent most of his adult life in England. He wrote numerous books of poetry and won several awards including the Forward Poetry Prize and the Queen’s Gold Medal for Poetry. This collection, The Last of England, provides the social commentary of an outsider’s view of England in 1970.
