Norwich: its Castles and Cathedral, its churches and old houses, its meeting places, its painters, and its two thousand years and more of history. The ancient beauty of the Broads, its villages and churches, and its wonderfully rich wild life. While Mr. Wentworth Day writes of oulton, Breydon, Hickling and Horsey, of the Waveney, the Ant, the Yare and the Bure, he is no less interested in the native Broadsmen. The speaking likenesses which he paints of characters, such as Charlie Gibbs of Surlingham and ‘Scientific’ Fuller of Rockland, would alone make the book memorable.
