First Edition. Five Volumes [complete set]. London, Printed for Longman, Hurst, Rees and Orme; J.Taylor, Architectural Library and the Author, 1807 – 1835. Quarto (24 cm x 30 cm). Complete with 278 plates. Original Hardcover (Volume I professionally rebound, Volumes 2, 3, 4 and 5, professionally repaired. All Volumes in protective Mylar. Very good condition with only minor signs of wear. Only very few plates with faded dampstain to outer margins. An extraordinary set of architectural scenery in high-quality engravings.

Includes besides illustrations of Churches and Cathedrals also detailed engravings of Castles and Castle-Gardens, amazing illustrations of Eton College, as well as several 19th century Engravings of the final resting place of King George VI and Queen Elizabeth II in St.George’s Chapel in Windsor Castle from all directions, Roslyn Chapel, etc. etc.
