huck Kruger, born in 1938, grew up in the Finger Lakes of upstate NY.
His short story collections include Between A Rock (Cork, Bradshaw Books, 2005).
His poetry collections are Sourcing (Bradshaw Books, 2008); and Island Alchemy (Bradshaw Books, 2010).
His non-fiction includes Cape Clear Island Magic (Cork, The Collins Press, 1994) [reissued in 1995 & 1999; an updated edition was published by the Cape Co-Op in 2008.
He has won several awards, including the Bryan MacMahon Short Story Competition 2003, and and the Cork Literary Review’s 2000 & 1998 Short Story Competitions, and is a regular contributor to radio programmes including RTÉ’s Sunday Miscellany and Lyric FM’s Quiet Quarter.
In protest against the Vietnam War, he and his wife, Nell, moved from St. Louis to Switzerland in 1966, where he worked as a teacher of world literature at an international school. They purchased a farm on Cape Clear Island in 1986, where they moved permanently in 1992. (Irishwriters-online).
