Feehan, John M.
An Irish Publisher and his World.
Cork, The Mercier Press, 1969/ 18cm x 11cm. 137 (22) pages. Original illustrated softcover (paperback). Very good condition with only minor signs of external wear.
This was the first book to appear about the world of publishing in Ireland. The author, who was the founder of The Mercier Press, writes from twenty-five years experience and deals with such subjects as authors, printing, selling, editing, libraries, the future of books in Ireland and concludes with a chapter which tells the story of the rise and success of The Mercier Press. Written in an easy non-technical style it should appeal especially to all would-be writers as well as to everyone interested in literature and writing in Ireland.
Capt. J.M. Feehan was born in Co. Tipperary in 1916. Hwas awarded a Cadetship in the Irish Military College and was commissioned in 1939. He resigned from the Army in 1950 to take up a full time career in publishing.
