Original engraving. Antwerp, Ortelius, [c.1595]. Plate Size: 51.2 cm x 35.8 cm. Sheet Size: 58 cm x 43.4 cm. Original map. In very good condition. Discreet tears near lower left and top right. Slight staining to top of sheet. Central vertical fold as issued. Professional repaired wormholes to above centre top border and near centre of map. A very minor hole along each lower vertical border of plate frame. Reverse carries Latin text. The map was orientated with Egypt’s north to the right.

2. Mediterranean – Ortelius, Abraham. (1527 – 1598).

Natoliae, quae olim Asia Minor Nova Descriptio – Aegypti Recentior Descriptio – Carthaginis Celeberrimi Sinus Typus.

Original hand-coloured copper engraving. Antwerp, Ortelius, [c.1600]. Plate Size: 49 cm x 32.5 cm. Sheet Size: 53.8 cm x 36.2 cm. Original map. Very good condition. Clean and crisp. Reverse carries Latin text.

3. Palestine – Blaeu, Willem Janszoon. (1571 – 1638).

Terra Sancta quae in Sacris Terra Promissionis olim Palestina.

Original hand-coloured map. Augsburg, Guiljelmi Blaeuw, 1641. Plate Size: 50 cm x 38 cm. Sheet Size: 56.8 cm x 47.6 cm. Original map. Very good condition with some minor browning to outer margins only. Off square margins. Centre fold as issued. Map orientated so that the Mediterranean coastline faces the upper border. German text on reverse.

4. North Africa – Sanson d’Abbeville, Nicolas. (1600 – 1667).

Royme, et Desert de Barca et ‘L’Egypte Divisee en ses douze Cassifs, ou Gouvernemens.

Original hand-coloured engraving. Paris, Chez P. Mariette, 1655. Plate Size: 52.5 cm x 34.1 cm. Sheet Size: 58 cm x 44.5 cm. Original map. In good condition. Signs of browning and staining to map margins. Minor tear to margins along centre fold.

5. Egypt – Lotter, Tobie Conrad. (1717 – 1777).

Le Cours Entier du Grand et Fameux Nil.

Original hand coloured engraving. Augsburg, Lotter, [c.1740]. Plate Size: 59.8 cm x 48.4 cm. Sheet Size: 65.4 cm x 53.6 cm. Original map. In very good condition. Partially coloured. Repaired tear to left edge of sheet. Minor tear to foot of sheet outside border. Central vertical fold as issued. Map is orientated to the north.

6. Egypt – Zatta, Antonio. (1722 – 1804).

L’Egitto Antico E Moderno.

Original hand-coloured engraving. Venezia, Antonio Zatta E Figli, 1784. Plate Size: 31 cm x 40 cm. Sheet Size: 39 cm x 50.7 cm. Original map. Very good condition, with the slight traces of staining to lower section of map.

Original hand-coloured engraving. Augsburg, Joh. Walch, 1798. Plate Size: 54.5 cm x 49.2 cm. Sheet Size: 67.3 cm x 55.1 cm. Original map. In very good condition. Large margin between plate and sheet edges. Some spotting along sheet edges beyond map border. Central vertical fold as issued. Map is orientated to the north.
