Original Hardcover (blue publisher’s cloth with original spinelabels and as a special ephemera treat in each Volume are two spare spine-labels tipped into the rear [In case of rebinding or fading of the exisiting spine-labels]. Very good condition with only minor signs of external wear (some rubbing). From the library of Hans Christian Andersen – Translator Erik Haugaard, with Haugaard’s Exlibris to the pastedown of each Volume.

Historical Souvenir of San Francisco, California – with Views of Prominent Buildings, the Bay Islands, Stock Exchange etc. [Two Binding – Variations of the Fantastic original Tourist – Panorama of San Francisco / 12 years before the earthquake destroyed most of the buildings displayed in this Leporello / The Souvenir shows also a remarkable Birds Eye View of San Francisco ].

2 volumes ( 2 different editions of the same publications.) San Francisco, C.P. Heininger, 1889 / (ca.1898). 14.5 cm x 19 cm. 44 pages with illustrations (including bird’s eye view of San Francisco), 60-page-booklet with descriptions tipped into rear of the Leporello (the booklet cleanly detached but complete). Original, beautifully illustrated Hardcover Leporello / Accordion / Concertina – tourist publication with blindstamped emblemata “Eureka” to the rear board. Excellent condition with only minor signs of external wear for the later edition. The Leporellos both in unusually, excellent condition. No fraying to the folds of the Leporellos. Binding of the 1889 edition is poorer, The Leporello and the booklet of this version are completely detached. A few tears and damages between the folds. Both interior of booklets are very clean. Overall very good condition and all illustrations are superfresh! Extremely scarce.

Excellent condition of the binding. The stunning and most wonderful interior with only very occasional signs of an old dampstain to the outer margins and the beautiful, large fold-out-plan with some mild browning to one part of the center-fold. A typographical masterpiece of italian printmaking.

Original Publisher’s decorative half leather with gilt lettering and ornament on spines. Bindings firm but in poor condition. Interior absolutely excellent with some minor staining to endpapers only. Inscription in both Volumes state that these Volumes belonge to George Crichton, S.S.Germanic, 1879, where they obviously were given to him as a gift “From John Walsh, Philadelphia, American Minister at St.James’s – London”. Stunning publication with 49 very valuable Steel-Engravings in beautiful condition.
