Two Vintage, 19th century manuscript – Map – diagrams regarding Meteorology: I. “Diagram of the Winds” / II. “Curves of the mean daily variations of the Temperatures of the Air and Dew Point, shewing [sic] the greater amount of Refrigeration during the day needed to cause Dew”.

Van Diemen’s Land or Tasmania with beautiful Vignettes and illustrations of Hobart Town, Residence of the Company’s Agent, Circular Head / Thylacinus Cynocephalus. The map shows the old districts of Tasmania: Dorset, Cornwall, Glamorgan, Pembroke, Cumberland, Buckingham, Kent, Devon, Westmorland etc.

The map shows in beautiful, hand-coloured borders the old division of Victoria into Howe, Combermere, Bruce, Haddington, Douro, Mornington, Frant, Bourke, Dalhousie, Rodney, Murray, Anglesey, Polworth, Grenville, Ripon, Hampden, Heytesbury, Villier, Dundas, NormanbyFollet, Wimmera, Western Port.

Vintage manuscript map of “Road from Heriot to Innerleithen – 1843”. [With an inset of wider dirctions to Pentland Hills, Arthurs Seat / showing the River Tweed in the South and names the kinds of sheep that are kept along the road to Edinburgh (″Black-Faced Sheep” – “Cheviot Sheep”)].

Ink on Paper. [Britain], 1843. 9.8 cm wide x 17 cm high. Very good condition. Some mild browning. From a wonderful collection of maps at South Shields Library (tiny stamp verso (on the back) of this map).

Vintage Map of the Middle East: “Turquieen Asie” [showing the Aegean Sea, The Black Sea with Georgia in the very North of the Map and the showing the whole of Turkey, Cyprus, Armenia (″Turcomanie Armenie”], continuing south to Syria and Lebanon with Palestine (″Terres Judee”) and showing parts of Persia to the east and all the way south to Medina – With a corresponding map [along the “Tropic of Cancer”] mounted verso: “Asie” [Showing the whole of Asia from the Mediterranean to Japan with Borneo, Phillipines etc.].

Vintage, 19th century manuscript map “Chart of the River Zaire from Capt. Tuckeys Narrative”.

Ink on Paper. Britain, c. 1850. 18.4 cm wide x 11.3 cm high. Mounted on paper (partially detached). Mounted on paper with an additional manuscript map of East Tartary. These maps were drawn in a 19th-century hand and used to be part of a Sammelband of Maps in the Public Library of South Shields.
